My name is Nicola Dandridge and I am Chief Executive of Universities UK.

Universities UK published a report last year which showed that the higher education sector generates £59 billion for the UK economy that is more than the pharmaceutical industry, more than the aircraft industry, more than the advertising industry. And for every £1 million that the treasury invests in higher education we return £1.3 million to other parts of the UK economy that is a tremendous investment.
