Starting in October 2010, UUK has facilitated a ‘futures exercise’ to look forward to what higher education might look like in 2040. The aim of this work is to help universities develop their thinking about the factors facing higher education and how to respond.

It is now hoped that the resources that have been produced during the project can be used by members for their own benefit in:
- thinking in fresh ways about how the sector could change over the next 10-30 years
- gaining valuable insights to help influence what happens across the sector and within their own organisation
