The Employability, Business and Industry Policy Network (EBIPN) leads Universities UK's thinking and response to issues related to support for the university and industry interface within HEIs.
The Network is responsible for developing the strategic direction the organisation should take on all aspects of the skills agenda and has members drawn from a wide range of universities across the UK.
The aims are to:
- Increase government support and ensure appropriate and consistent funding for knowledge transfer activities
- Secure favourable funding mechanisms for employer led courses, whilst ensuring that this does not compromise core funding for teaching
- Work to remove the legal financial and resource constraints for universities engaging in commercialisation activity
- An HE-focused implementation of the higher level skills strategy and simplification of the skills landscape
- Raise the profile of the contribution of the HE sector to the creative economy and ensure that HEIs’ activity in this area is supported through appropriate funding.
